The Saint Louis University School of Social Work was established in 1930 and has been accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) since 1952.
Our school is built upon an unwavering commitment to social justice. A leader in integrating social work practice and education, the school boasts faculty members who have made substantial contributions to the profession. Our interactive teaching methods are aimed at integrating community-based practice with classroom activities and discussions. Small class sizes facilitate an atmosphere of intellectual dialogue that fosters relationships between students and faculty.
Founded in 1818, Saint Louis University has a tradition of academic excellence and pursues excellence in teaching, research and community service. The School of Social Work is housed within the College of Public Service, where the combination of human service disciplines truly offers students and faculty an opportunity to follow Jesuit tradition of "women and men for others."
The centers and clinics housed within the College of Public Service offer students and faculty research and funding opportunities. Specifically, the School of Social Work's Doerr Center for Social Justice Education and Research, provides students, faculty, and community agencies funding and opportunities to directly address issues of social justice.
